The typical reformed Jew has never been one to be very outward with their religion and heritage. Often only practicing on the high holidays, their daily life doesn’t depend on Jewish ideals like it did maybe 70 years ago. Nowadays, Jews feel most connected to their roots when they enjoy a nice bagel or when they chuckle at the Mitzvah Tanks parked around New York City. But for others it might be something a little more special. Exploring what makes the modern Jew feel most Jewish in a place like New York City filled with our culture still varies from person to person. Both young Jewish women, Hannah and Parker conducted this project as young Jewish women, but raised in very different households, they each have their own ways of practicing their Jewish religion. In an effort to learn more about other Jews and their lives, they embarked on this project with the intention to shed light on what the future of the Jewish population is doing to observe their heritage and religion.
